Live in the Moment is a four-track jazz live EP recorded during a real performance at The Below Stone Nest, London.

The digital edition brings the recordings together with the wider context of the performance, including the musicians, live environment and production process. Rather than presenting the EP as a collection of isolated audio files, this page is designed as a space where the music and the event behind it can be experienced together.

About the Digital Release

The digital edition was developed to extend the EP beyond a conventional track list. While the physical release presents Live in the Moment as a fixed listening object, the website creates a more open and expandable environment.

Here, the recordings can exist alongside visual documentation, performer information and material from the live session. Listeners are able to move between the music and its wider context rather than encountering the tracks separately from the event that produced them.

I chose to publish the EP through my own artist and producer website so that I could control how the music is presented, sequenced and connected to the wider project.

Recorded Live at The Below Stone Nest

Live in the Moment was recorded during an actual jazz-band performance at The Below Stone Nest rather than through a staged studio live session.

The recording therefore contains more than the musicians' performances. Room ambience, microphone spill, audience applause and cheering all remain part of the sonic identity of the EP.

During mixing, I chose not to remove these elements aggressively. Instead, they were treated as evidence of the event itself, helping preserve the sense of a shared live space.

Jazz Band Members

The musical identity of the EP developed through the interaction between the performers in real time. Improvisation, timing, dynamics and spontaneous musical responses were therefore central to both the performance and the final recordings.
